Dr. Murray J. Penner
Murray is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia, and the Head of the Regional Department of Orthopaedics for Vancouver Coastal Health Authority & Providence Health Care. He is also the Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, and a Past-President of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foot & Ankle Society (COFAS).
Murray has served 2 terms as the Canadian representative to the International Federation of Foot & Ankle Society (IFFAS). Murray has been in full-time academic subspecialty surgical practice for the last 20 years, focused on adult orthopaedic foot and ankle reconstruction.
His particular interests include complex deformity correction and total ankle replacement. Murray is an avid teacher, actively involved in training orthopaedic residents and subspecialty fellows in foot & ankle surgery. He has been invited as a visiting professor and lecturer to numerous orthopaedic conferences and institutions in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.
He is a co-editor of a major textbook on total ankle replacement and has published numerous book chapters, scientific articles and over 60 peer-reviewed research papers.
Dr. Anish R. Kadakia,
MD, FAAOS, an Orthopaedic Surgeon with
Center for Comprehensive Orthopaedic and Spine Care at Northwestern Memorial Hospital
Dr Kadakia graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in 1996.
Dr. Kadakia went on to earn his medical degree from the Northwestern University Feinberg School
of Medicine in 2000. He followed up with a residency in orthopaedic surgery at McGaw Medical Center of Northwestern University in 2005, and a fellowship focused on orthopaedic foot and ankle at Mercy Medical Center in 2006. He currently serves as Member-at-Large for the AOFAS.
Dr. Kadakia serves as a Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine and is the Director of the Foot and Ankle Orthopaedic Fellowship.
With a strong commitment to education, he has written over 30 book chapters, published nearly 100 review and peer reviewed articles. His has co-authored a book with Dr. Mark Myerson on Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery in 2019. He continues to be invited both nationally and internationally to educate fellow orthopaedic surgeons. He has also had the honour of being a guest professor and performing surgery in China, Qatar, and India. He is engaged in charity building schools in India for orphans, water systems for school in Bangladesh, Kenya, India and actively participates in Step2Walk, serving on the medical board as well.
